Biography
Dr. Bernard Gros is a board-certified cardiologist with an emphasis in echocardiography. He began his medical career at Emory University School of Medicine and continued on to residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan. After completing residency, he remained in Ann Arbor to pursue his cardiology training at the University of Michigan. During this time, he was appointed as a fellow member to the board of the Michigan Society of Echocardiography. Upon completing his training, Dr. Gros joined Cardiology Associates of Gainesville. During this tenure, he held medical staff appointments at Shands AGH/UF, and North Florida Regional Hospital. As part of his medical staff appointment at Shands AGH/UF, he served on the Medical Record, QIC, Critical care and Credential Committees. In 2000, Dr. Gros was elected as the Chief of Medicine at Shands AGH. From 2002-2006, Dr. Gros served on the Executive Committee of Shands AGH/UF and was the Chief of Operations/Medical Staff for AGH during 2002-2004. In 2002, he was appointed as Medical Director of Cardiology Associates of Gainesville Non-Invasive Lab where he was recognized as one of “American’s Top Physicians”.
The College of Medicine welcomed Dr. Gros in November 2011. Dr. Gros spends the majority of his time as the cardiology practice Site Director at UCF Health; however he also participates in the cardiovascular/pulmonary and Practice of Medicine modules.
Dr. Gros is a member of the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology and American Society of Echocardiography.
