UCF Student Health Services is accredited by The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. The mission of UCF Student Health Services is to provide excellent healthcare that delivers value and promotes lifelong well-being to the UCF community. Students receive unlimited office visits to our medical staff, included as part of their tuition. Charges apply for materials/medicines used during your visit.

Clinic Hours & Contact Info

UCF Student Health Services provides a wide array of primary care services by an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) Monday through Thursday and a medical doctor on Friday to meet your health needs. The clinic is located at the Lake Nona Health Sciences Campus in Suite 416 (Silver Pod). The hours are Monday – Friday from 8:30 – 5 p.m. During clinic hours, students can call 407-823-2701 for appointments.

Services Available

  • Diagnose, treat and write prescriptions for common illnesses such as strep throat, bladder infections, pink eye and infections of the ears, nose and throat.
  • Provide common vaccinations for flu, HepB, MMR, PPD and Tdap.
  • Treat minor wounds, abrasions, joint sprains and skin conditions such as poison ivy, ringworm and acne.
  • Provide a wide range of wellness services, including physical exams, smoking cessation and TB testing.
  • Provide lab lab tests such as Strep, Mono and urine dip.
  • Education on sleep issues and how to get better sleep.
  • Monitoring of diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and asthma.
  • Prescription refill authorization

Students always have the option of using the Main Campus Health Center by calling 407-823-2701 for appointments.

UCF Health

University of Central Florida Student Health Service (UCF SHS) physicians with faculty privileges in the College of Medicine (COM) and UCF Health physicians who have influence (evaluation,grading) on medical students’ academic progress shall not be available for the care and treatment of health concerns, including psychiatric or psychological issues, that may avail COM students. COM students seeing care for such services at UCF SHS or UCF Health will be directed to see other providers as appropriate.

Health Service Availability for Remote Location Assignments

Students at Bay Pines VA Healthcare System

University of Central Florida, College of Medicine students who are currently enrolled and assigned to a clinical rotation at the Bay Pines Veterans Affairs Medical Center may utilize the University of South Florida’s (USF) health facilities for medical appointments and are encouraged to review USF’s websites: St. Petersburg campus or Tampa campus or contact the health facilities directly for the specific services offered at each location.

If a student desires medical services from USF or from USFSP (Saint Petersburg), they should contact Monica Barksdale at USF’s health services directly at (813) 974-9336, or Melanie McCabe at USFSP’s (Saint Peterburg) Wellness Center directly at (727) 873-4410, identify themselves as a UCF College of Medicine student and schedule an appointment.  The health fee students pay entitles the student to unlimited physician (provider) visits during the semester.  For all other services (e.g. x-rays, prescriptions, laboratory procedures, injections, and orthopedic supplies), USF will assist students with the submission of insurance claims to the student’s insurance carrier, when appropriate.

Students at Naples Community Hospital (NCH)

University of Central Florida, College of Medicine students who are currently enrolled and assigned to a clinical rotation at Naples Community Hospital (NCH) can visit any of the NCH Immediate Care Centers or make an appointment with the NCH Business Health unit which is on campus.  The closest Immediate Care facility is located at 801 Vanderbilt Beach Road, Naples, FL  239-624-8220.  The Business Health unit can be reached at 239-624-8160. Students can also “wait at home” by notifying the site via their website.

COVID-19 Pandemic: If there are any concerns about an exposure or if you develop symptoms (cough, fever, shortness of breath, myalgias), please call Occupational Health at NCH (239-624-4630, M-F 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) to discuss need for testing and/or when it would be safe to return. Please notify Karen Solis at NCH (239-624-0035) and the appropriate individuals at UCF COM.

Students at North Florida Regional Medical Center (Gainesville) or Ocala Regional Medical Center (Ocala)

University of Central Florida, College of Medicine students who are currently enrolled and assigned to North Florida Regional Medical Center (Gainesville) or Ocala Regional Medical Center (Ocala) can visit University of Florida’s Student Health Care Center.  Upon arrival to the facility, students should provide proof of insurance as students are personally responsible for any care not covered.  UF SHCC will assist UCF medical students with the submission of insurance claims when appropriate.
