The Resident Advisory Committee (RAC) provides a forum for residents and fellows across the UCF/HCA Florida Healthcare GME Consortium to share information, identify opportunities for improvement, and raise concerns related to their programs and learning and working environments.
The RAC represents the perspectives and interests of residents and fellows to the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC). Committee members are physician learners from a variety of specialties and programs across the Consortium.
Resident Advisory Committee Meetings
Each participating hospital holds a local resident forum, and the Consortium also holds a resident forum conference call periodically. Peer selected residents regularly participate in these meetings; however, all residents and fellows are encouraged and welcome to bring forward questions, concerns, and ideas for discussion.

RAC Co Chairs
The RAC Co Chairs provide leadership for the committee, establish annual goals, facilitate meetings, and help ensure that the perspectives of residents and fellows are communicated to the GMEC.
RAC Co-chair Objectives
The RAC Co-chairs are responsible for:
- Leading the committee in achieving its annual goals.
- Scheduling, coordinating, and facilitating RAC meetings.
- Establishing goals that support the continued development and effectiveness of the RAC.
- Presenting the ideas, questions, and concerns of Consortium residents and fellows at monthly GMEC meetings.
RAC Responsibilities and Structure
A. Membership
The RAC is composed of physician learners from programs across the UCF/HCA Florida Healthcare GME Consortium.
B. Hospital Representation
Each Consortium hospital will have a peer selected RAC Chair who serves as a voting member of the GMEC and provides regular updates on RAC activities at monthly GMEC meetings.
C. Collaboration
The RAC Chair may invite representatives from other University of Central Florida College of Medicine or HCA departments, services, or areas of expertise to participate in discussions regarding issues that affect physician learners and their learning and working environments.
D. GME Office Support
The Office of Graduate Medical Education will provide administrative support to the RAC as requested.
E. Meeting Schedule
Hospital RAC meetings will be held at least every other month. Meeting schedules will be established and agreed upon by the membership at the beginning of each academic year.
F. Opportunity for Independent Discussion
RAC members may request to meet with or without GME leadership, including the Designated Institutional Official (DIO), as appropriate.
