UCF M.D. Program students are required to have health and disability insurance. Life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance is recommended, but not required for enrollment.
UCF College of Medicine students may opt-in for disability insurance through AMA Insurance Agency, Inc. Disability insurance provides benefits to medical students if a disability from a covered illness or injury prevents them from attending classes or clerkships. The College of Medicine recommends enrollment in the American Medical Association’s plan which has a $200,000 payout and has an annual cost of $55.00. While enrollment in this plan is not mandatory, proof of comparable coverage is required if the M.D. student decides to enroll in another plan.
For information on the plan, log on to https://amainsure.com/support/student-certificates/ and enter code 644245. There you will find specific information on plan coverage, as well as information on global emergency travel services. Disability insurance is paid for via tuition and fees assessment.
