College of Medicine faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in two charitable events that are working to raise money to cure major killers in our country, cancer and diabetes.
A medical school team is participating in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Lake Nona on April 6-7 at Lake Nona High School and hopes to raise $3,000 and have 50 team members sign up to “relay” through the night.
The Relay team held a recent bake sale at the medical education building and raised over $150 and will host another sale on Tuesday, March 5.

On Sunday, March 17, the American Diabetes Association will hold its Tour de Cure bicycling event at Lake Nona. The event features a 10-mile family fun ride and rides of 25, 50, 62 and 101 miles. And the starting line is at the UCF College of Medicine.
The first 20 College of Medicine cyclists will receive a free UCF COM cycling jersey and the first 30 individuals who donate $50 or more will receive a free UCF COM workout t-shirt. Both shirts have a unique, one-of-a-kind design.
