Dr. Yara Bonet Pagan is board certified in both adult and geriatric psychiatry. She has been an attending psychiatrist at the Orlando VA Medical Center and an assistant professor of Psychiatry with the UCF College of Medicine since 2018, working with third- and fourth-year medical students and psychiatry residents.

Dr. Bonet Pagan graduated from the Universidad Central del Este in the Dominican Republic. She graduated from the Adult Psychiatry Residency Program at the Ponce School of Medicine & VA Hospital in Puerto Rico and completed a fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at the Montefiore Medical Center-Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York.

She is very focused on understanding what each student needs and is willing to hold your hand or take a step back to allow students to try on their own, but you always know she’s there if you need her. She creates a very welcoming environment and made me feel like an important part of the team.
- Dr. Bonet was a fantastic preceptor. It is clear that she cares a lot about providing the best clinical care possible to the patients at the VA and it carries through to the way that she teaches medical students. She is very hands-on and provides specific guidance every day on how to best manage patients. I do not have enough good things to say about her!
- Dr. Bonet is very thorough and detailed. She is encouraging, kind and really open to questions. Dr. Bonet is an exceptional educator. Her commitment to fostering a collaborative learning environment stood out during my experience. She took the extra step to ensure I felt like an integral part of the team.
