Meet your new UCF College of Medicine colleagues who joined us in October.
Nichole Fletcher joined the college on October 1 as an office assistant in the Human Resources Department. She will be assisting the HR team with faculty and staff recruitment efforts as well as handling the department’s administrative activities. Nichole reports to Desiree Woroner. Her office is located in 306P-1 and her phone extension is 6-1227. Before coming to the College of Medicine, Nichole was a support services account manager in Human Resources at Source2. She is also currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in higher education administration at Northeastern University.
Dr. Angela Mazza joined the college on October 12 as an assistant professor of internal medicine in the Clinical Sciences Department. She will spend half her time teaching and researching and the other half in clinical practice of endocrinology at UCF Health. She reports to Dr. Ralph Caruana. Her office is 406L and her phone extension is 6-1173. Before coming to the College of Medicine, Dr. Mazza worked as a Clinical and Research Endocrinologist for the Florida Hospital Diabetes Institute and also served as a volunteer faculty member for the College of Medicine.
Carolina Marchena joined the college on October 12 as the P1 coordinator, Academic Support Services. She will be responsible for coordinating the Practice of Medicine P1 Module and Clinical Skill instructional content and delivery. Her duties will also include module planning, implementation and evaluation as well as assisting the P2 Coordinator and Community of Practice 1 and 2. Carolina reports to Geovanna Abreu. Her office will be located in 317K and her phone extension is 6-1161. Before coming to the College of Medicine, Carolina worked in the UCF International Services Center as a student services coordinator.
Dr. Analia Castiglioni joined the college on October 12 as an associate professor of internal medicine in the Clinical Sciences Department. She will spend half her time in teaching and research and half her time in clinical practice of internal medicine at UCF Health. She will report to Dr. Ralph Caruana. Her office is 410H and her phone extension is 6-1179. Before coming to the College of Medicine, Dr. Castiglioni was an associate professor of internal medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and also served as a physician at the Birmingham Veterans Affairs Medical Center and University of Alabama Hospital.
Alaina West joined the college on October 22 as an office manager for the Department of Faculty and Academic Affairs. Alaina will be responsible for all office functions for the Departments of Faculty and Academic Affairs, Medical Education, and Clinical Sciences. She reports to Geovanna Abreu, her office is located in 406 at the 4th floor reception desk, and her phone extension is 6-1100. Before coming to the College of Medicine, Alaina was a Retail Sales Associate at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company.
