The UCF College of Medicine welcomed these new colleagues in September:
Neffisatu Dambo
Neffisatu J. C. Dambo joined the College of Medicine on September 4 as an OPS Graduate Assistant in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. A Ph.D. graduate student in the UCF Department of Education, Neffisatu will be responsible for assisting with outreach programs that help students from diverse backgrounds prepare for health careers. She reports to Dr. Lisa Barkley. Her office is located in 312B and her phone extension is 6-1416.
Matthew Palmeira
Matthew Palmeira joined the college September 11 as a Research Assistant in Clinical Sciences. He will be responsible for coordinating communication for a research project between seven participating medical schools, as well as collecting research survey data. He reports to Dr. Martin Klapheke. His office is located in 411A and his phone extension is 6-1175. Matthew is currently an undergraduate student with hopes of being accepted into the College of Medicine’s M.D. program.
Kerry McKee
Kerry McKee joined the college September 14 as a new Instructional Medical Librarian in the Harriet F. Ginsburg Health Sciences Library. She will be responsible for the electronic resources content maintenance for the library website and also provide reference and interlibrary loan support. She reports to Nadine Dexter. Her office is located in 210L and her phone extension is 6-1432. Before coming to the College of Medicine, Kerry was a librarian intern for Walt Disney World.
Angela Moten
Angela Moten joined the college September 14 as a Computer Specialist in the Information Technology Department. She will be responsible for establishing, developing, maintaining and updating documentation on information systems as well as assisting with the review of administrative procedures and development of systems to assure compliance by all staff. She reports to Andrew Butcher. Her office is located in 301C and her phone extension is 6-1234. Before coming to the College of Medicine, Angela was an executive secretary at the UCF Foundation.
Pamela Herring
Pamela Herring joined the college September 14 as a new Medical Instructor Librarian in the Harriet F. Ginsburg Health Sciences Library. She will be responsible for electronic resources for the library website and also provide reference and interlibrary loan support. She reports to Nadine Dexter. Her office is located in 207C and her phone extension is 6-1428. Before coming to the College of Medicine, Pamela was a librarian for the Osceola Library System.
Cary Demchuk
Cary Demchuk joined the college September 24 as a new Patient Services Collections Specialist at UCF Health. She will be responsible for patient rebilling and account follow-up. Cary reports to Traci Briggs and is located at UCF Health. Her phone number is 407-309-4800. Before coming to the College of Medicine, Cary was a collections specialist at CorVel Corporation in Lake Mary, FL.
Alexa Gomez
Alexa Gomez joined the college September 24 as a new Business Services Staff Specialist at UCF Health. She will be responsible for managing patient flow, assisting patients with immediate needs and addressing questions and coordinating patient activity in the reception area. Alexa reports to Kathy Sadler and is located at UCF Health. Her phone number is 407-309-4800. Before coming to the College of Medicine, Alexa was a medical billing manager for Pinnacle Home Healthcare.
Jorge Nieves
Jorge Nieves joined the college on September 28 as an Applications Systems Analyst/Program Assistant in the Clinical Skills and Simulation Center. He will be responsible for providing support, coordinating and executing clinical and simulation events. Jorge reports to Dr. Cendan. His office is located in 317K and the phone extension is 6-1159. Before coming to the College of Medicine, Jorge was a simulation lab technician for NSU Orlando PA.
Monique Normand
Monique Normand joined the college September 28 as an Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Associate Dean of Faculty and Academic Affairs. She will be responsible for providing support for all module and clerkship coordinators, purchasing requests, travel arrangements, meeting/event planning and payroll. Monique reports to Geovanna Abreu. Her office is located in 09N-2 and her phone extension is 6-1166. Before coming to the College of Medicine, Monique was an account manager for Marketing Configurations.
