The College of Medicine will host the UCF Knights 2013 opening football game August 29 against the Akron Zips. The 7 p.m. weekday game is at Bright House Network Stadium and marks the first time that UCF plays as a member of the newly formed American Athletic Conference.

As the game’s sponsor, the College of Medicine and UCF Health, the medical school’s physician practice, will be featured in signage and announcements throughout the contest. The medical school will receive the game ball on the field, and Dr. Deborah German, vice president for medical affairs and dean of the medical school, is scheduled to be interviewed live at halftime on the UCF IMG Sports Network WYGM 740-AM.

Stay tuned for future announcements about ticket availability for the game. Come out and cheer on the Knights – and your medical school.
