Welcome to the General Surgery Interest Group
Mission
To provide UCF COM students a more comprehensive understanding of the field of general surgery as a specialty as well as its many subspecialties. Special emphasis will be given to help illustrate the unique aspects of this field that make it distinct from other specialties. GSIG serves to connect students with leaders in the field, offer workshops to gain exposure to hands-on aspects of general surgery, host seminars to increase awareness about new developments in the field, and provide mentorship so as to increase each member’s ability to match into program of their choice.
