Biography
Dr. Rechell Rodriguez is a distinguished military physician and educator who has served in various leadership roles and academic positions. She is currently a Professor in the Medical Education Department of the College of Medicine at the University of Central Florida.
Dr. Rodriguez received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California, San Diego in 1992, and her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine in 1997. She completed her Internal Medicine Internship and Residency at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium (SAUSHEC) in 2000, and later obtained a certificate from the Stanford Faculty Development Center-Clinical Teacher Program in 2010.
Dr. Rodriguez has been on faculty of USUHS, Department of Medicine since 2005, and was the Clerkship Director of the Internal Medicine Clerkships Program from 2005 to 2016. She has also been a core faculty member for three different Internal Medicine Residency Programs at David Grant Medical Center, Wilford Hall Medical Center, and San Antonio Military Medical Center. She was appointed by the Air Force Surgeon General as the Governor of the American College of Physicians (ACP), Air Force Chapter from 2010 to 2013, and received several Chapter Excellence Awards and the John Tooker Evergreen Award for her leadership. She is a Master of the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Rodriguez has published numerous articles and book chapters on topics such as faculty development, mentorship, clinical teaching, and physician burnout. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and holds a California state medical license. She has a passion for teaching and learning.
