Hatem Kaseb, MD, PhD, MPH

Biography

Dr. Hatem Kaseb is a pathologist with a special interest in Hematopathology, Gynecological Pathology and Medical Education. He is board-certified in Anatomic/Clinical Pathology and Hematopathology by the American Board of Pathology. Dr. Kaseb began his medical career at Cairo University School of Medicine. He then completed his PhD in the department of Human Genetics in the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Kaseb completed his pathology residency at Yale New Haven Hospital  in New Haven, Connecticut; followed by a Hematopathology Fellowship in the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio. Prior to being recruited to UCF, Dr Kaseb was an attending Pathologist in University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). 

His academic efforts are focused on developing and presenting pathology and genetics content. His clinical duties involve patient care and teaching University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine medical students in the UCF Lake Nona Hospital. Dr Kaseb is also currently serving as the Medical Director of Pathology in UCF Lake Nona Hospital.

Dr Kaseb research interests include Myeloid neoplasms, gut microbiome, head and neck cancer biology and bone sarcoma pathogenesis. Dr. Kaseb is a fellow of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and an active member of multiple medical societies including United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP). Dr Kaseb has authored a number of articles and published abstracts in the fields of Pathology, Hematopathology, Cancer biology and Molecular Pathology. Dr Kaseb also serves as reviewer for a number of pathology journals. He is also currently serving as an Associate Editor for the Genetic testing and molecular biomarkers. He also contributed in creating/editing educational content for USMLE study Qbanks and American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
