Biography
Biography
Dr. Oliveira-Sales received her B.S in Biomedical Science from Universidade Estadual de Londrina, Parana, Brazil, and both her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Federal University of São Paulo under Dr. Ruy Campos’s supervision. During her Ph.D., Dr. Oliveira-Sales was awarded a Brazilian government scholarship to complete general research training as part of her graduate thesis work, under the mentorship of Dr. Julian Paton at Bristol University, UK. She later worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at UT Health in San Antonio (UTHSCSA). Moreover, she is a specialist in higher education pedagogy.
Dr. Oliveira-Sales began her career as an instructor for pre-medical students at the University of Incarnate Word (UIW) in San Antonio. She became an Assistant Professor for professional medical students. She supervised graduate students in the master’s Program in Medicine: Health and Environment at the Universidade Metropolitana de Santos, São Paulo, Brazil (UNIMES).
In addition to this experience, Dr. Oliveira-Sales served on committees such as the College of Medicine Standards Committee and the Institutional Review Board (IRB), which helped me better understand medicine and its technologies. She actively participated in the Faculty Development Training Team. She was responsible for teaching the faculty how to use some didactic technologies.
Dr. Oliveira-Sales joined the UCF College of Medicine in 2025 as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Medical Department, where, as a professor of pharmacology, physiology, biochemistry, and cell biology in Foundations, IS-1 to IS-5 Courses.
Dr. Oliveira-Sales has also received several grants over the years, including a CAPES Award to the best Thesis in Biology Science Area finished in Brazil, 2009, a Postdoctoral Excellence in Research Award from Renal section of Experimental Biology, a Top 10 abstracts Award submitted the 50th ERA-EDTA, A Travel Grant from Physiological Society to Experimental Biology, a Travel Grant of Hypertension from International Society of Hypertension (ISH) and European Society of Hypertension (ESH), an International Early Career Physiologist Travel Award from American Physiology Society (APS).
She is a current member of the American Physiology Society (APS), and a Reviewer for several national organizations, and has published numerous abstracts, research articles, and two book chapters.
