We want to show our overwhelming appreciation and gratitude to all who gave to the College of Medicine during April 13’s UCF Day of Giving 2023.

Knights and our supporters raised more than $800,000 for the medical school’s missions and efforts, including scholarships, residency and fellowship programs and free clinics that serve the community. The College of Medicine ranked third university-wide in the amount raised.

“It is amazing what we can do when we all come together,” said Dr. Deborah German, vice president for health affairs and founding dean of the medical school. “I am so grateful to all who participated in Day of Giving. Your support helps us train tomorrow’s health leaders, make new medical discoveries through research, and improve the health of our community.”

Major College of Medicine gifts included:

  • More than $500,000 from an anonymous donor to support a new hospice and palliative care fellowship
  • $25,000 from the Brevard Indo-American Medical and Dental Association (BIMDA) to endow a new M.D. scholarship in honor of Glad Kurian, Founder and Dr. Ashok C. Shah, President Emeritus
  • An endowment by Mike Gaither to create the Dr. Manette Monroe Endowed M.D. Scholarship in memory of his late wife, a founding faculty member at the medical school who created an equestrian therapy program that helps combat veterans achieve improved physical and mental health.
