A College of Medicine team will be participating in the Lake Nona Relay for Life on May 20 to help raise money for the American Cancer Society. The walk begins at 6 p.m.at Lake Nona High School.

Medical School Team Leaders are Wandy Cruz-Velazquez, coordinator of admissions and registration in Student Affairs, and Debbie Kirkley, instructional technologist in Planning and Knowledge Management. They have been collecting donations and selling food, photos and Dr. Brophy Word Jars to raise money for the event and so far have collected more than $500.

If you would like to walk with the College of Medicine team, please contact Wandy atwandy@ucf.edu or Debbie at dkirkley@ucf.edu. You can pick a time you would like to walk.

Wandy and Debbie will be selling snacks at the Relay and other teams will be selling food items as well. So come out to the relay for dinner and a fun evening.

“We’re encouraging everyone to join us at the track at Lake Nona High,” said Debbie, a cancer survivor who also walked in the recent UCF Relay for Life. “We’re off and running to raise money to fight cancer.”
