Dr. Henriquez is a two-time UCF graduate. He received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Health Sciences from UCF and after graduating from Ross University School of Medicine, he did his Internal Medicine residency at the UCF-HCA Healthcare graduate medical education program at HCA Florida Osceola Hospital and the Orlando VA.  Today, he is a site director for the Internal Medicine/Family Medicine third-year clerkship, providing clinical education to medical students and UCF-HCA residents. He is a committee member on the National VA Focused Addiction Medicine Curriculum as well as other committees within the VA system. Last week Dr. Henriquez was selected for the College of Medicine’s Gold Humanism Honor Society, which honors medical students, physicians and other leaders who exemplify compassionate care and a commitment to keeping patients as the first priority.

Here is what UCF medical students say about Dr. Henriquez.

  • Dr. Henriquez is an excellent educator. He makes learning easy by providing a safe environment to make mistakes, ask questions and grow.
  • Undoubtedly one of the most respectful and understanding attending physicians. Thanks to his guidance, I think I was given a stronger-than usual start to third year. He understood the education difference between residents and medical students and would frequently ask for explanations or clarifications just for the student’s sake.
  • He was easily one of the best attendings I’ve worked with this year. He made rounds something I actually looked forward to because I knew that I would have the opportunity to challenge myself. We would play “the game” during rounds which allowed everyone on the team to work together, identify our knowledge gaps, and encouraged us to look up information to learn more than what was expected from us on exams.
