Did you know?

  • Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women in the United States.
  • In the U.S., someone has a heart attack every 34 seconds and each minute someone dies from heart disease.
  • Forty-seven percent of sudden cardiac deaths happen outside a hospital, suggesting that many people with heart disease don’t act on early warning signs.
  • Heart disease costs this country almost $320 billion in healthcare services, medications and lost productivity.

As we prepare to celebrate July 4, do your part to help end heart disease. Please donate or sign up to walk in the Greater Orlando Heart Walk on Saturday, Sept. 17 at Orlando’s Loch Haven Park.

The College of Medicine’s goal is to raise a total of $3,000 for the American Heart Association. So far we’ve raised $750, so please contribute!
