The UCF College of Medicine thanks the Galloway Foundation for its 2012 scholarship donation of $120,000. The foundation is the only donor to fund a full scholarship in each of the college’s first four M.D. classes.

“The Galloway Foundation is an amazing partner,” said Charles Roberts, the College of Medicine’s assistant vice president for development. “The medical school is honored by their generous and continuing support.”

The foundation was established by the late Joe and Sarah Galloway of Winter Park, to benefit the Central Florida community, especially children, said trustee Bob Klettner.  The couple, who were actively involved in the Winter Park Telephone Company, operated their business with the motto, “Build your company, build your community,” and the foundation believes the same view applies to their scholarship gifts.

“Besides helping an individual medical student, we’re helping the community” and helping to support the growing medical city at Lake Nona, Klettner said. “We try to do our little part.”
