The Florida Board of Medicine honored charter class M.D. student Anika Mirick with its Chairman’s Recognition Award for exemplifying the professionalism, moral character, compassion and intellect “essential to the future leaders of our medical profession.”

Anika, who is entering her fourth year at the UCF College of Medicine, received the award at the Board’s June meeting.

“This is an outstanding young medical student that I’m so pleased to be able to recognize at this meeting,” said Board Chairman Dr. Jason J. Rosenberg. “I think the future of medicine is bright.”

Anika is currently in Ann Arbor, Michigan participating in a radiology clerkship. In 2011, she was honored with the Order of Pegasus Award, UCF’s most prestigious student award.
