Biography

Dr. Ahmad is the current Health Equity Director for Education at UCF COM. She has worked throughout her career in academia, public health, and the pharmaceutical industry at the state, federal, and global levels.

Prior to joining, she has worked at Johnson and Johnson in various infectious disease roles, practicing as a physician and public health specialist. Nina worked on emerging public health threats at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and New York State Department of Health. During her time there, she served as the Director of Emergency Preparedness, and Medical Director for the Division of Epidemiology. Nina responded to various disease threats which included HIV, Zika, Ebola, synthetic marijuana, adulterated dietary supplements, and TB. She also led the health equity related work.

Nina was previously recognized as physician of the year and honored with an FDA award for communication and collaboration amongst agencies. She also served on the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and as an advisor and Chair for the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP).
