Biography
Dr. Michael Torres is a general adult psychiatrist with an interest in perinatal mental health and psychotherapeutic interventions. A Central Florida native, Dr. Torres attended University of Central Florida’s Burnett Honors College for his undergraduate degree in psychology. He then began his medical career at University of Iowa’s Carver College of Medicine. In 2020, he began a psychiatry residency program at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida, where he also served as a chief resident.
Upon completing the residency program, Dr. Torres joined the College of Medicine in July 2024. He serves as the Assistant Clerkship Director of the Psychiatry Clerkship and facilitates case-directed learning. He also assists with the Brain and Behavior course in addition to the Transitions course.
