Biography

 

Dr. Jeffrey Greenwald has served as the President of The Dermatology Group for the past 37 years. He is licensed and board certified in Internal Medicine and Dermatology. He is affiliated with the American Academy of Dermatology and the Florida Bar Association.

 

Dr. Greenwald has been a volunteer faculty member with the UCF College of Medicine since the school’s opening in 2009. He holds an appointment of Assistant Professor of Dermatology. In 2016, Dr. Greenwald received the M2 Golden Apple Award and the Richard B. Hornick M.D. Faculty Award. Also in 2016, he was honored for his compassion and dedication to excellence in clinical care during the second annual Chapman Chapter Gold Humanism Honor Society induction ceremony with the UCF College of Medicine.

 

Dr. Greenwald is the Advisor for the Dermatology Interest Group with the UCF College of Medicine, which strives to foster and increase awareness of dermatology and dermatological issues with the medical student body and community. This group aims to provide a forum for mentorship and discussion about the multifaceted aspects of dermatology including subspecialties and new developments in clinical treatments.

 

Dr.  Greenwald serves as Chair of Dermatology Education at UCF College of Medicine.  He teaches during M1 in the skin portion of the anatomy lab and biopsy clinic.  During M2, he teaches the Dermatology section of the S-5 module.  During M3, he teaches “Dermatology Week” for the Internal Medicine and Family practice clerkship.  During the M4, a Dermatology independent research study elective is  taught by Dr. Greenwald, along with other members of  The Dermatology Group.

 

Dr. Greenwald has worked with students to develop The Dermatology Textbook for medical students.  He has also worked with students on the successful publication of case reports in the prestigious Journal of Academy of Dermatology (JAAD), poster presentations at National AAD meetings, and the Florida winning poster for  ACP conference.

 

Dr. Greenwald received many awards and honors while completing his medical education. He graduated Summa Cum Laude, received the Miller Shroeder Award for Best Senior Thesis, and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society with Princeton University. Dr. Greenwald was the class valedictorian, receiving the Dean’s Medal, and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society with Dartmouth Medical School. While completing his residency program with Harvard Medical School, he was named the “Harvard Chair” Teacher of the Year. Lastly, Dr. Greenwald was class valedictorian of his Barry University School of Law graduating class.
