Biography
Alaina West is an experienced higher education and medical education professional with over a decade of service at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. She currently serves as a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Compliance Specialist, where she oversees the planning, administration, and accreditation compliance of continuing medical education activities in alignment with Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) standards.
Alaina collaborates closely with faculty, department leaders, residencies, and external partners to deliver high-quality CPD programs across live, online, and enduring formats. She manages the full lifecycle of accredited activities—from initial application through post-activity evaluation and reporting—and plays a key role in upholding the ACCME Standards of Integrity and Independence. Her leadership and attention to detail were instrumental in securing successful ACCME reaccreditation in 2022, extending accreditation through 2026.
Previously, Alaina supported Faculty and Academic Affairs and Medical Education, where she contributed to faculty development initiatives, curriculum support, payroll and budgeting processes, website management, and academic operations. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Kent State University and brings strong technical proficiency, organizational expertise, and a collaborative approach to advancing medical education. Alaina has been recognized with multiple institutional awards, such as Employee of the Year, and remains actively engaged in service and inclusion-focused initiatives.
