Biography

Dr. Golden is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine with board certifications in Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He has served as the President for the Florida Geriatrics Society. Dr. Golden is an active researcher with an interest in population health and the development of home- and community-based based models of care for frail older adults.

After completing residency, Dr. Golden completed fellowship training in geriatric medicine at the University of Miami School of Medicine. After several years on faculty at the University of Miami, he became the Medical Director for Geriatrics at Medco Health Solutions Inc. (formerly Merck-Medco, LLC). In 2002, Dr. Golden moved to Orlando to serve as a staff physician and Assistant Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Orlando Regional Medical Center. In 2007, he returned to the University of Miami/VA medical center to serve as the clerkship director for the geriatric clerkship and an investigator in the Miami VA’s Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinical Center (GRECC).

In his role as the Associate Chief of Staff for Geriatrics and Extended Care at the Orlando VA Medical Center, Dr. Golden provides care to older adult Veterans and has played a key role in the development of UCF’s Internal Medicine Residency Program.
