The UCF College of Medicine will host a grand Opening Celebration fundraising event on October 16 at the college’s new state-of-the-art medical education building at Lake Nona.

The celebration will include a progressive dinner and entertainment on each of the four floors of the new $65 million, 170,000-square foot facility. Food is being donated by a variety of local restaurants and hotels, including Ocean Prime, P.F. Chang’s, The Citrus Club, Flemings, Café 118°, Bonefish Grill, the Ritz-Carlton, The Boheme, Macaroni Grill, Darden Restaurants, Arthur’s, Rix Lounge, the Orlando Airport Marriott, the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort and Ruth’s Chris, just to name a few.

Festivities run from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Admission begins at $150 per person, including permanent recognition in the College of Medicine’s Piazza.

“The opening of our new Medical Education building is a significant event in the history of our college and it’s also a significant event for our area’s emerging medical city,” said Deborah German, M.D., vice president of medical affairs and dean of the UCF College of Medicine. “We hope Central Floridians will join us in this celebration.”
