Call it a combination of Knight team loyalty and good Italian food. The College of Medicine Student Council is organizing two spirit events this fall to encourage unity, festivity and fun.

Each Friday is now “UCF COM Uknight Spirit Day” where students, faculty and staff members are urged to wear black and gold to show their school spirit. Those who must wear business attire are encouraged to choose a black and gold color scheme. Students who can dress more casually are urged to wear clothing with a UCF logo.

In addition to supporting Knights football, the Student Council is hosting UCF COM Big Italian Family Night at Cariera’s restaurant in Lake Nona on Wednesday, Oct. 12. Show your UCF identification card and you are eligible for 15 percent off your meal or an all-you-can-eat pasta dinner. Students hope to make the dinner available once a month. Cariera’s is located at 10663 Narcoossee Road.

“We’re urging everyone to participate,” said M-2 Michelle Lipton, Student Council vice president. “These events are a chance to build camaraderie and unity at the college. And who doesn’t love Italian food, especially when you can save money eating it?”
