Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,
Our community has suffered a tragedy that is almost impossible to imagine in a city that is known for joy and happiness throughout the world.
During this time of sadness we must recommit to our values and help one another to cope and to heal. This is especially important in our profession.
We all have a right to be here and our world is better for our diversity. Our ability to be inclusive at this time will test our resolve and our values.
Be kind to each other and to those you meet. It will take us a long way in the next weeks and months.
I wish to share with you a white paper that offers guidance for helping ourselves and others through this difficult time – In the Aftermath of Trauma by Dr. Deborah Beidel, an expert in trauma and anxiety.
