We’re spreading the word about the UCF College of Medicine. The medical school and UCF Health are now working with Growing Bolder, a media organization that produces local and national radio, television and print stories about living life to its full potential.

Growing Bolder was founded by WESH Channel 2 television personalities Marc Middleton and Bill Shafer to share inspiring stories of people making a difference and overcoming challenges. Its first feature-length documentary, Conquering Kilimanjaro, followed 16 cancer survivors and supporters – including former WESH TV news anchor Wendy Chioji – to the summit of the world’s tallest free-standing mountain.

Producers will be helping to tell the new medical school’s stories of education, research, patient care and community service in Growing Bolder TV and radio shows, and Growing Bolder Magazine, which is distributed at Walgreens throughout Central Florida.

The first radio interview – Dr. Deborah German, vice president for medical affairs and founding dean of the medical school, will talk about how she fits health and wellness into daily life. Another scheduled interview is with Dr. Griffith Parks, director of the college’s Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences, on immunizations.

We’ll be in touch soon once we have exact run dates and times for our stories. So be on the lookout!
