College of Medicine faculty and a student were honored at UCF’s Founders’ Day Honors Convocation April 6. The annual event celebrates outstanding academic achievements.

Dr. Tina Dow, assistant professor in the Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences, was the College of Medicine winner for “Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching.”

Dr. Steven Ebert, associate professor, Division of Metabolic and Cardiovascular Sciences, received College of Medicine honors for “Excellence in Graduate Teaching.”

Dr. Salvador Almagro-Moreno was the college’s honoree for “Excellence in Research.” He also was one of five UCF faculty members to receive the university’s “Reach for the Stars Award.”

Dr. Diane Davey was named Professor Emerita of Medical Education. Dorilyn Hitchcock was named Associate Professor Emerita of Biomedical Sciences.

Dr. Annette Khaled was recognized for 20 years of service to the university.

Angela Shar, an undergraduate student in the Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences, was the College of Medicine’s student honoree for her scholarship and research with the Bionic Materials, Implants & Interfaces Cluster.
