Alumni Dr. Sarina Amin and William Furiosi were recently recognized by the UCF Alumni Association’s “30 Under 30” awards program for their outstanding achievement after graduation.

The “30 Under 30” award recognizes young alumni under the age of 30 who have made an impact due to their professional success, community involvement or engagement with UCF.

Dr. Sarina Amin

Dr. Amin, a member of the College of Medicine’s charter class, serves as a mentor to other medical students and is currently completing her residency at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, where she is training as an ophthalmologist.

William Furiosi graduated from UCF with a degree in biomedical sciences. After receiving a master’s degree in teaching, he started work at Oviedo High School, where he currently inspires young minds to be passionate about science.

Dr. Amin and Furiosi were honored with the other recipients at the November 12 home football game against Cincinnati.
