August 2021
January 2022
As you are starting the clinical rotations and the Omicron COVID surge is clearly affecting the Central Florida Area, please be aware that:
- We are watching the situation closely and are following the guidance from the UCF Main Campus and our clinical partners
- We encourage you to follow the CDC guidelines for getting a COVID19 booster shot if you are eligible (at least 5 months for Moderna or Pfizer or at least 2-months for J&J)
- If you are ill or exposed to COVID, you need to call UCF COVID Line, 407-823-2509 and follow the protocol on the GPS website https://med.ucf.edu/student-affairs/gps-a-good-place-to-start/covid-updates-announcements/ and always be in communication with your clinical preceptor and your clerkship leadership for additional instructions.
August 2021
As approved by the Curriculum Committee on 8/20/21
Students assigned to work with known or suspected COVID-19 patients should be supervised, either directly or indirectly as appropriate for their level of training (as per UCF COM policy 9.3.1).
- Please note: This is a UCF policy, but the hospital/clinic policy supersedes the UCF policy.
