Overview
The Council on Belonging was created to enhance the culture and community of the College of Medicine.
The Council serves as a college-wide resource that brings together expertise, experience and innovation to advance culture, community, connections and conversations throughout the college.
Members are appointed by the Dean of the College of Medicine and represent students, faculty, and staff within the College of Medicine. Members must complete an application of interest to serve.
Mission
The mission of the Council on Belonging is to serve as a college-wide forum and recognized resource to support the efforts of the College of Medicine to realize the benefits of diverse cultures, perspectives, backgrounds and identities within medicine and the biomedical sciences.
Champion Program
The UCF College of Medicine (COM) embraces the fusion of our collective differences. We enthusiastically encourage our COM community to engage and participate in the various community building events and initiatives offered throughout the college and broader community throughout the academic year.
To become a UCF COM Access, Belonging and Community Engagement Champion, candidates must:
- Attend a minimum of 3 College of Medicine events and/or initiatives focused on improving access to healthcare and/or educational opportunities for low-resource/underserved populations, belonging and/or community engagement.
- Complete 2 external community-service activities that contributes to cultural sensitivity and community engagement in the broader community. You will need to provide 2 photos of participation or other documentation.
