Biography
Dinender Singla is Professor of Medicine at the Burnett School of Biomedical Science, College of Medicine, and University of Central Florida. Dr. Singla received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from Punjabi University, Patiala, India and his Ph.D. from the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandrigarh, India. He is involved in the multidisplinary areas of research that is related to stem cells, heart failure, diabetes, inflammation and cardiac regeneration in cell culture and in vivo models. He has published more than 70 peer reviewed papers in high quality journals. He is continuously serving to review the grants for various NIH, AHA, ministry of Italian health, and Hong Kong study sections. He is an Academic Editor for PLos one, Associate Editor for Canadian Journal of Physiology and Pharmacology as well as he is serving on the Editorial board member for different journals such as American Journal of Physiology: Heart and Circulatory. He has reviewed papers for many prestigious high impact journals such as Circulation. Dr. Singla has edited a stem cell biology book. He served as a chair for various scientific meetings throughout the world. He has also organized scientific conferences. After having significant contributions in the cardiovascular scientific field, Dr. Singla received an honor to become a Fellow of the American Heart Association, and the Fellow of International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences. Additionally, he has been honored with outstanding contributions in cardiology award by the American Association of Cardiologists of Indian Origin. Dr. Singla is currently an active secretary for International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences, North American section. Dr. Singla is continuously funded by AHA and/or NIH RO1 grants since 2004.
