Biography

Sabera Akter Bushra is an Instructor of Medicine in the Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences at the UCF College of Medicine. She currently teaches Human Physiology Labs and Anatomy & Physiology I and II in an online format.

She received her MS in Biotechnology from the University of Central Florida and her undergraduate degree with a double major in Biotechnology and Microbiology from BRAC University in Bangladesh. During her graduate studies at UCF, she worked as a graduate researcher in Dr. Saleh Naser’s laboratory, where her research focused on Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis (MAP), Crohn’s disease, intestinal inflammation, and therapeutic drug studies. Her research interests include host–pathogen interactions, inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal epithelial health, cancer, genetic engineering, bioinformatics, and molecular microbiology.
