Why Choose Our Program
Our program is an ACGME-accredited, two-year training program with the mission of helping our fellows develop into excellent clinical endocrinologists and scholars in the field. Our fellows train in different sites, each with unique opportunities for professional development. We care for a very diverse patient population covering common as well as rare endocrine disorders. Our fellows receive comprehensive training in:
- Diabetes and glucose metabolism disorders
- Thyroid disorders and cancer
- Neck sonography and ultrasound-guided biopsies
- Bone and calcium disorders
- Pituitary disorders
- Adrenal disorders
- Obesity
- Lipid disorders
- Insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring
- Male and female reproductive endocrinology
- Transgender medicine
- Inpatient endocrinology and endocrine emergencies
We work as a part of a multidisciplinary team including pharmacists, diabetic educators, nutritionists, pathologists, radiologists, and surgeons. Our facilities offer plenty of opportunities for the fellows to develop procedural skills such as performing thyroid ultrasound, fine-needle aspiration biopsies, and placement of implantable continuous glucose monitors. We also have state-of-the-art simulation lab for fellows interested in practicing their procedural skills.
We also have partnership with our colleagues at the Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship at Nemours Children Hospital and the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility teams to provide additional exposure in pediatric and reproductive conditions.
Our program highly encourages participation in national endocrine conferences, scholarly activities, quality improvement and patient safety projects, and research. We are committed to providing the fellows with the necessary expertise, resources, and support to advance their scholarly work.
We aim for continued growth and excellence in endocrine care and medical education. We hope you would consider joining us on our journey and letting us be part of yours.
