Welcome to the University of Central Florida College of Medicine Internal Medicine Residency Program located in Orlando, Florida.
The program is sponsored by the University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine and operated in conjunction with Osceola Regional Medical Center and the Orlando VA Medical Center. The College of Medicine is located at Lake Nona, the site of Orlando’s developing Medical City near the international airport. Medical City contains the College of Medicine, the new Orlando VA Medical Center buildings (nearing completion), Nemours Children’s Hospital (opened in October 2012), and several research institutes including Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute and the University of Florida Center for Aging. The VA National Center for Simulation Training, Education, and Research will also be built on this campus. Osceola Regional Medical Center is a large tertiary care hospital located 14 miles southwest of Lake Nona in Kissimmee, and is a major medical care provider in Osceola County, Florida. It documents over 86,000 Emergency visits annually, and 18,000 annual admissions.
This new residency program capitalizes on the strengths of all the partners. The clinical rotations are split between the VA and Osceola, with the VA taking a larger role in outpatient experiences. UCF will provide sponsorship, education and curriculum support, and faculty leadership. We are especially pleased to announce the accreditation of our first fellowship program in Endocrinology and will have fellows rotating at both the VA and Osceola Regional Medical Center.
Our program is dedicated to meeting the health care needs of the communities we serve.
