Health Information Technology (HealthIT) at the University of Central Florida – College of Medicine (COM) has created an internship program to provide opportunities for UCF learners to gain valuable experience and exposure within the healthcare-related technological environment. Scope of activities will be in support of the tripartite missions of Academia, Research, and Patient Care within the Academic Health Sciences Center (AHSC).
Each participating intern will receive a personalized experience, where aspects of their curriculum will be tailored to mutually provide the most benefit to the learner and institution. Along with a set of standard objectives, a unique scope of activities will be incorporated into the course, established from the initial assessment of the candidate from the targeted intake unit within HealthIT. Projects and participation will vary, depending on current priorities of the department and AHSC during time of participation.
