Firefox removal from standard installation

What is happening?

This message is to notify you that the web browser application, Mozilla Firefox, is being removed from our standard installation on computers across the College of Medicine, Burnett School, and UCF Health.  On 10/14/2024, we will initiate an automated process to remove old versions (prior to v130) of the software from all computers unless we receive a response from you for continued use on your system.

Why is this occurring?

Older Mozilla Firefox has significant vulnerabilities that can be exploited.  This poses significant security risks to the local computer and our environment, allowing bad actors to gain access to our network and resources.

Student Secure Printing

HealthIT is implementing Secure Printing at the College of Medicine for all students starting July 22nd, 2024

Secure Printing allows all print jobs to be stored in single secure print queue, which can be released on any designated printers. To maintain document confidentiality, users must authenticate at the Canon Printer using your UCF ID card or NID credentials at the time of release.

As we near implementation, instructions will be distributed on setting up and using the new secure print system.
