Message from our Program Director
I welcome you to explore our newly accredited Gastroenterology Fellowship Program at UCF/HCA Healthcare – Greater Orlando. This training program offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to a diverse range of clinical pathologies through rotations at both a busy community-based hospital and the Orlando VA Medical Center.
Our fellows benefit from a rigorous and well-rounded curriculum that includes sub-specialty electives. We accept two fellows each year, and clinical training is primarily divided between HCA Florida Osceola Hospital, a Level II Trauma Center, and the Orlando VA Medical Center. We also collaborate with HCA Florida Largo Hospital to provide specialized training in hepatology and liver transplantation. In addition, fellows will also get an exposure to advanced endoscopic procedures such as Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), and Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR).
Our affiliation with the University of Central Florida and our integration within the HCA Healthcare system offer significant academic and scholarly opportunities. As part of a larger Graduate Medical Education (GME) network, our fellows benefit from interdisciplinary collaboration and mentorship across specialties.
Being a new program, we have the flexibility to adapt and innovate—allowing us to continually enhance our curriculum and build a strong educational foundation. We place a strong emphasis on lifelong learning, and weekly didactic sessions are a core component of our educational structure.
We look forward to training the next generation of skilled, compassionate, and scholarly gastroenterologists.
Thank you for your interest in our program.
