Biography
Valeria Cardenas, a senior pursuing a major in Biomedical Sciences and a minor in Diversity and Social Inequality at the University of Central Florida. She is a dedicated advocate of women’s health and reproductive well-being, and throughout her academic career, she has shown a passion for examining the connections between medicine, culture, and social equity.
On her journey toward achieving her ultimate goal of medical school, Valeria intends to continue her academic career after graduating by pursuing a Master’s in Public Health.
Valeria’s research interests encompass a range of critical areas, including global health, cultural influences on healthcare, the ongoing implications of COVID-19, and most notably women’s reproductive health. Valeria’s dedication to improving the lives and well-being of women worldwide through her research is evident, and it’s this commitment that has inspired her active membership in the Women’s Global Health lab since May 2023.
