Working or volunteering in my lab provides opportunities for students to enhance their knowledge of statistics and improve their computing skills. The potential tasks that a student can perform to contribute to the team’s progress include preparing software codes in SAS® or R software for data cleaning, data description and analysis, identifying the right statistical method and performing statistical analysis, preparing a scientific report, creating poster and/or presentation slides, and presenting a poster and/or giving a talk. Students should expect to participate in a number of research projects, such as behavioral medicine studies, population-based observations, and biological experimental studies.
