Our research concentrates on the convergence of materials science and medicine, particularly in the realm of biomaterials and nanomedicine. Work is in progress in the following areas: magnesium composite implants and ultrasound-responsive gene delivery systems. Through the utilization of cutting-edge technologies, processes, and advanced materials, our lab is dedicated to designing and evaluating platform technologies for biomedical applications. The lab creates innovative biomaterials, scalable manufacturing processes, and bio-interfaces to advance the field of medical implants and gene nano delivery systems with a focus on their clinical translatability. This research is highly interdisciplinary, combining an understanding of biology, materials science, and biomedical engineering to develop new bioactive materials that can enhance vascular and tissue regeneration, and improve the diagnosis and efficacy of treatments.
