Biography
Dr. David Lebowitz earned his MD from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, and completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at AdventHealth in Orlando, FL, where he served as Chief Resident. He further enhanced his expertise by completing a certificate in Informatics from AMIA – OHSU/ACEP.
Currently, Dr. Lebowitz serves as the Academic Chair of Emergency Medicine for HCA Healthcare GME, where he acts as the thought leader and primary advocate for the Emergency Medicine Residency Programs. In this role, he provides educational support and mentorship across the programs, guiding their academic direction and fostering excellence in training.
His commitment to innovative education has been recognized with the prestigious Innovative Teaching Award and Early Career Educator Award from the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. In addition to his extensive publications, national presentations, and numerous research abstracts, Dr. Lebowitz serves on the board of directors for the Florida College of Emergency Physicians (FCEP) and is an Oral Board Examiner for the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM).
Dr. Lebowitz is deeply passionate about innovative medical education and is highly dedicated to the wellbeing of residents and students, ensuring a supportive and enriching environment for their development.
