Aligned with the mission of the residency, our educational mission is to train medical students in clinical excellence and support the development of humanity, compassion and empathy in patient care.

Our four-week rotation is hosted at HCA Florida Osceola Hospital, and includes general emergency medicine,  pediatric emergency medicine, ultrasound and simulation shifts. The experience is completely hands-on, including direct patient care, clinical decision-making and care planning.

The formal educational portion of the rotation includes 8 hours of devoted medical student teaching, in addition to attending high-yield, interactive, weekly resident didactics.

Acting Internship

4th year students with a more serious career interest in critical care and/or emergency medicine are invited to learn and practice with us during their acting internship. During this rotation, students are afforded greater opportunities to assist in managing critical patients and performing procedures. A portion of the student evaluation is based on a case presentation and critical analysis of the literature.

Rotating with us offers:

  • A forward‑thinking, adult‑learning–based educational environment
  • Flipped‑classroom sessions, immersive simulation, and small‑group teaching
  • Personalized mentorship focused on growth and career development
  • Exposure to a wide variety of pathology and a diverse patient population
  • A culture of wellbeing with a truly supportive resident community where students feel valued
  • Social events to get to know us

Rotate with us!

We welcome students to come and rotate with us to get a better sense of our teaching philosophy, how we work with other specialties, the work-flow of our department and life in our community overall.
