Fighting Cancer with Natural Killer Cells Activated by Nanoparticles
Harnessing the immune system to fight cancer (immuno-oncology) is a cutting-edge approach in cancer therapy. Our laboratory integrates nanotechnology with immunology to engineer highly potent NK cells for combating cancer. The nanoparticles we’ve developed deliver key cytokine(s) and signaling molecules that promote NK cell activation, proliferation, and tumor cytotoxicity. Notably, our nanoparticle platform can be administered as an injectable, offering a chemotherapy-free method to stimulate the patient’s own NK cells.
