Fighting Cancer with Natural Killer Cells Activated by Nanoparticles

Harnessing the immune system to fight cancer (immuno-oncology) is a cutting edge technology. Methods developed in our laboratory harness nanotechnology and apply them to immunology to make highly potent NK cells for fighting cancer. Nanoparticles developed in our lab have key cytokine(s) and signaling molecules that activate NK cells to grow and be cytotoxic toward tumor cells. Importantly, our particles can be used as an injectable to stimulate NK cells in the patient without using chemo-based drugs!
