Dr. Otto Phanstiel is a full professor in the Department of Medical Education at the UCF College of Medicine. His specialty is medicinal chemistry and Dr. Phanstiel holds a Ph. D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Florida, where he also did his post-doctoral fellowship. Dr. Phanstiel’s research focus is developing new therapies for human diseases such as pancreatic, breast, and colorectal cancers, and viral infections. His lab is also working to develop anti-aging medicines which increase organismal lifespan.
