Peter M. Marzano III, MD

Our June 2019 physician highlight features Dr. Peter M. Marzano III. Dr. Marzano has been a source of inspiration and growth for our student volunteers at KNIGHTS Clinic. He has over 20 years’ experience in the medical field, and is board certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Marzano is currently a Hospitalist with the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach, FL where he serves as Vice-Chair of the Department of Medicine, Co-Chair of the Education Department, and Clinical Coordinator of the Clinical Decision Unit.

As a faculty facilitator at the UCF College of Medicine, he assists with P1 medical interviews and physical exam sessions, while also participating in select P2 sessions. The UCF College of Medicine honored Dr. Marzano in 2012 with a Practice of Medicine Preceptor Excellence Award.

We caught up with Dr. Marzano to ask him what volunteering at KNIGHTS Clinic means to him. Here’s what he had to say:

Being part of the Knights clinic is the highlight of my professional life honestly. It’s fun and reminds me of why I went into medicine in the first place. I have the opportunity to teach, and learn from, both the students and patients in a more relaxed environment than I normally work in. I smile the entire ride home.

Dr. Marzano, thank you for your time and dedication to helping provide a high level of care for the underserved population while guiding the development of future physicians.

We would also like to thank the Diebel Legacy Fund at Central Florida Foundation for generously supporting KNIGHTS Clinic through their grant-funding to make this all possible.
