Florida Hospital Sharing Smiles, formerly SHARES International, provides children in need with facial reconstructive surgery, pediatric dentistry services and ongoing physical therapy free of charge. Sharing Smiles’ volunteers have transformed the lives of more than 24,000 patients since 1996, giving the gift of a new smile to those who have only known sorrow and suffering. Their mission is to deliver healing and hope to needy children in selected countries through quality health care, education, and training. In partnership with host country health care providers and civic leaders Sharing Smiles is building a positive, lasting legacy of care in each of the countries it serves. By collaborating with onsite medical professionals and Rotary Clubs they ensure these children receive the ongoing care needed to help them do what they do best – smile. Students are invited to participate in 1 week short-term medical mission trips in Latin America.
