About Dr. Steven Ebert

We study how stress impacts cardiovascular health and disease across the developmental spectrum from inception to infirmary.   Too little stress hormone stimulation can lead to heart failure, whereas too much contributes to formation of congenital and other heart defects.  Our aim is to reveal the molecular mechanisms governing stress responses in the developing heart to better balance beneficial versus adverse effects of stress, and ultimately produce innovative new diagnostic tools and therapeutic strategies to combat heart disease and improve heart health.
