The Annual Showcase is an event at the College of Medicine in which students and faculty gather to celebrate the healing power of the arts through an evening of performances. Throughout the night, students demonstrate their diversity of hidden talents, ranging from dance exhibitions to vocal and instrumental performances. The evening is also an opportunity to give back to the community; in prior years, students painted and donated a piano to the Community Based Care of Central Florida, which cares for local foster children. The showcase is not possible without the support of the volunteers who intricately navigate the logistics of organizing such a large event. “What a beautiful blend of art and medicine,” Dean German said of the production. “The fact that our students put together such a performance in the midst of exams shows the depth of their talent.”
